(7 Apr 1996) T/I: 10:06:17 Asia's only majority Catholic country, the Philippines marked Easter Sunday (7/4) with masses across the nation and special celebrations to remember Christ's resurrection. Masses will be celebrated throughout the day with one every hour - apart from lunchtime - and will continue well into the evening. After the first mass at 6:00 am local time (2200gmt) in Angono, in Rizal province about 50km from Manila, locals took part in a traditional Easter pageant.
