What Is This Chicken Pecking At?
I caught Vicky doing something totally strange at BIGFeathersFarm today! I poured some water onto a dry patch of dirt, and she immediately started pecking at the fresh mud. In the chicken life, this kind of curious chicken behavior is a regular part of flock management and observing your birds. It is truly motivational to see how our 12 hens and 2 roosters interact with their environment on the homestead. Whether she was looking for hidden minerals or just enjoyed the new texture, Vicky is definitely the most curious of our 14 chickens!
