Red light therapy is everywhere right now, but most people are doing it with no real protocol.

In this video I break down the 12-minute red light protocol backed by a 2023 human clinical study using a 630 ± 10 nm LED mask, 12-minute sessions, twice weekly for 3 months. The study included women ages 45 to 70 with visible signs of aging and reported progressive improvements in wrinkles, dermal density, pores, elasticity, and overall skin quality. It also found that results persisted for up to a month after stopping, which is what makes this interesting to me: that suggests more than a quick temporary glow.

I also go into what actually matters with red light: wavelength, dose, consistency, and spacing sessions properly. The 2023 paper used 630 nm at 15.6 J/cm² for 12 minutes, twice a week, not every day, and not a random rainbow of colors.

Just as important, this is not the same as saying every mask on the market is equal. Parameters matter. Earlier controlled clinical work using 633 nm and 830 nm LED phototherapy also found objectively measured wrinkle reduction, improved elasticity, and histologic evidence of increased collagen and elastic fibers.

And newer randomized sham-controlled data published in 2025 found that two sessions per week appeared sufficient to improve patient satisfaction and wrinkle measurements, which lines up nicely with the protocol discussed in this video.

If you want skincare and aesthetics explained with actual papers, clinical experience, and no fluff, subscribe and let me know what topic you want next.
